Phoenix Light Rail: Open Air Market a Success

Phoenix Open Market on Light Rail is fresh and fun I stopped by the Open Market on Saturday morning. It was a good think I got there before noon, because the vendors start packing up at that time. The open time is from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, and 4-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. You will find, as I did, a mixture of farmer’s market, boutique, promotion and food to sample before you buy. It was on a smaller scale that others I have been to, and I estimated about 50 booths set up and functioning. The visitors seemed to be in a good mood, irrespective of the warm temperatures in the hot Phoenix morning. Large water-cooled fans were blowing on several corners to cool everyone down. Several people just stood in front of the fans and spread their arms out, seemingly hoping to drink in all the cool air. You can find more information at http://www.foodconnect.org/phoenixmarket/  They are located on the NE Corner of Central Ave and Pierce St.; and you can get there by exiting the Roosevelt/Central Ave Light Rail...
