We have compiled a list of 27 schools that are in the light rail corridor in Phoenix-Tempe-Mesa. There are Elementary, Middle and High Schools, private and public. And of course we have included the gigantic Arizona State University, through which light rail runs on a daily basis. Have we missed one? Cancer Survivor Parks in Phoenix is on Light Rail (1st Street and McDowell) The Park, also known as the Richard and Annette Bloch Park, is one of about 24 parks with the same name throughout the United States and Canada. Cancer Survivors Parks promote survivorship and provide common sense information that will guide and support the patient through his or her cancer journey. It has been reported and estimated that 10 million Americans have been diagnosed with cancer, and 5 million have been considered cured. Cancer is considered as the most curable of all chronic diseases. There are treatments for every kind of cancer. The Phoenix Main Library is convenient and on light rail. The Phoenix library system of the central location and 15 branches provide 950,000 library cards to patrons. While it is hard to separate the central location from the branches, Phoenix is a large city and services a huge array of people and needs. Stop in and browse, look throught the CD and DVD collection for that movie you always wanted to catch up on. The library system is assisted by more than 150 volunteers who donated more than 20,000 hours to supplement the staff during a lean budget year.
